WASHINGTON, DC - Universities Allied for Essential Medicines Joined a chorus of civil society organizations in a letter directed at the executives of major pharmaceutical companies that are currently filing suit over the Medicare negotiation provisions of the Inflation Reduction Act, which passed one year ago today.

“These lawsuits are not about competition, markets, or innovation. This is all about the power to usurp the will of the people, and our elected officials, when the interests of shareholders and the interests of taxpayers collide,” said Justin Mendoza, Executive Director for Universities Allied for Essential Medicines North America.
