Victoria Chou
Victoria recently graduated from Western University with double majors in Chemistry and Biology. Growing up in Hong Kong, where access to essential medical services was limited, instilled in her a strong passion for advocating for health equity. This deeply ingrained value led her to become actively involved in Universities Allied for Essential Medicines (UAEM). During her time at Western University, Victoria was at the forefront of creating institutional change with her dedicated executive team and members. Through initiatives such as ETAF implementation and raising awareness about healthcare obstacles around the world, she has worked to address health disparities on both local and global scales.
After graduation, Victoria remains committed to pursuing a career in Physician Assistant Studies, where she aims to further advocate for health equity and uphold the legacy of UAEM in her professional endeavors. She has joined the UAEM Summer Journal Club to explore and discuss race-based medicine and its implications for accessibility and transparency in disproportionately disadvantaged populations. Through her involvement in the Coordinating Committee for UAEM North America this year, Victoria is dedicated to advocating for healthcare equity and empowering others to join the cause by working with a team of exceptional individuals.
