Dr. JC Mugunga
Dr. Jean Claude Mugunga is a physician leader currently serving as the Deputy Chief Medical Officer of Partners In Health (PIH). Over the last decade, he has been leading the organization’s work in Health Financing and Research towards achieving Universal Healthcare (UHC) across all supported countries. His previous work experience includes working as a clinician at public health facilities in Rwanda and as health researcher for the Overseas Development Institute, UK. Dr Mugunga is a member of the faculty and Lecturer within the Division of Global Health Equity at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and the University of Global Health Equity, Rwanda. His commitment to mentoring the next generation of global health practitioners included serving on the board of directors of GlobeMed, a global health equity student organization. Dr Mugunga obtained his medical degree from the University of Rwanda and a Master of Science in Global Health Policy and Management from Brandeis University.
