Shani Fernando

Shani is an avid human rights activist from Los Angeles, CA, studying medical anthropology, global health, and social medicine. She is also a counselor at a domestic violence shelter and hopes to serve abroad as a licensed EMT. In addition, Shani volunteers with Great Boston's Physicians for Social Responsibility and International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, iACT NGO humanitarian-aid, World Relief, and Ukraine Now. She hopes to become like her hero, the late Dr. Paul Farmer.
