Rosie James

Rosie is an academic junior doctor for NHS England and independent global health consultant. She has been involved in UAEM since 2015, where she first joined in Galway, Ireland. She currently serves as the coordinator for the Lancet Migration European Regional Hub and board member of the Federation of European Societies of Tropical Medicine and International Health (FESTMIH). In 2021, she held an external consultancy for PAHO Health Systems Strengthening/Human Resources for Health (HSS/HRH) Department.

Rosemary graduated from NUI Galway School of Medicine in 2021. She holds an MSc Global Health from Maastricht University (2020), where she joined local UAEM meetings there. She has completed multiple public health internships since 2015, including with the WHO Regional Office for Europe, Reproductive Health Uganda, and the Centre for Public Health and Primary Care for vulnerable populations in Lausanne. She believes everyone, regardless of race, gender, age, religion, disabilities or borders, should have access to equitable health services, including universal health coverage. She strongly supports UAEM's three main pillars: Access, Innovation, and Empowerement, particularly among young people.
